I have been working on growing my small business, Magick Mechanic, which has just launched a new website. I started the business several years ago when I was living in Los Angeles in 2022 and then it had a Dallas/Fort Worth phase in 2023. The business is currently operating in the North Jersey Area – mostly around Newark, Hillside and Union, where I have decided to relocate permanently to be closer to my family on my mother’s side.
I have worked in several mechanic shops in Upstate New York and New Jersey over the last few years, which have helped me to increase my skills/knowlegde. Yet, I am at the point of interviewing mechanics to hire to work for Magick Mechanic. It is difficult since being able to work mobile-style, interact directly with customers and having a lot of tools/experience makes it difficult to find the right people for the job. Customers will often not purchase the right parts or ask to fix things that do not actually make the car run. I have replaced several starters when the vehicle had an issue with the fuel pump, or done brake jobs that the customer had bought rear brakes for the front of the car.
I enjoy the balance of mixing the analytical/mechanical side of my mind with the creative/artistic side. I endeavor to be as well-rounded as possible and cultivate many different pursuits. You can check out the new website @ www.magickmech.com
